Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in Berkshire is looking to recruit a Allocations Officer to provide support throughout a busy period.

This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Allocations Officer to manage housing applications, assess eligibility, and allocate accommodation in line with the Housing Allocation Scheme. The successful candidate will have experience in housing register management, direct matching processes, and ensuring legal compliance with housing legislation.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

• Assess and process housing register applications, determining eligibility and appropriate banding in line with local policies.
• Ensure all housing allocations adhere to the Housing Act 1996 (Part VI), the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, and Allocation of Housing Regulations.
• Work collaboratively with Housing Solutions teams to align housing allocations with homelessness prevention strategies.
• Manage direct matching processes for priority groups, including:

> Households with medical needs (e.g., delayed hospital discharge cases).

> Under-occupiers and homeless cases requiring suitable accommodation.

> Other vulnerable groups requiring specialist housing solutions.

• Maintain accurate records and process allocations using NEC (Northgate), Civica, and Jigsaw housing management systems.
• Work closely with landlords, registered providers, social services, and medical professionals to ensure timely and appropriate housing allocations.
• Provide advice to applicants regarding their housing options, allocation status, and appeals process.
