Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in East London is looking to recruit a Housing Solutions Officer to provide support throughout a busy period.
This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.
We are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Housing Solutions Officer to provide expert housing advice, homelessness prevention, and temporary accommodation support. This role involves assessing and investigating homelessness applications in line with the Housing Act 1996 Part 7, ensuring that applicants receive the appropriate support and solutions to reduce homelessness in the community.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:
- Assess and investigate homelessness applications, providing tailored solutions to prevent or relieve homelessness.
- Support the allocation and management of temporary accommodation, ensuring placements comply with legal requirements and council policies.
- Ensure all assessments and decisions comply with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and Housing Act 1996 Part 7.
- Conduct detailed assessments, gather evidence, and issue legally sound Section 184 decisions.
- Work closely with landlords, housing providers, social services, and welfare teams to secure sustainable housing options.
- Provide housing advice to clients, explaining their rights and responsibilities and guiding them through available housing options.
- Maintain accurate records, monitor service performance, and use housing management systems (such as Jigsaw, Northgate, or Locata) to track applications and decisions.
