Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in West London is looking to recruit a Housing Advice & Homeless Prevention Officer to provide support throughout a busy period.
This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Housing Advice & Homeless Prevention Officer to deliver specialist housing advice, homelessness prevention support, and housing options guidance to individuals at risk of homelessness. This role will require managing a diverse caseload, investigating housing circumstances, and working with clients to explore and access a broad range of sustainable housing solutions.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:
- Provide expert advice on housing rights, tenancy sustainment, and security of tenure, ensuring individuals understand their legal options.
- Develop early intervention strategies to prevent homelessness, working with landlords, mortgage providers, and support services.
- Conduct detailed housing assessments, verifying household circumstances and assessing eligibility for support.
- Carry and manage a varied caseload, providing personalized support plans to individuals in need.
- Work closely with clients to explore low-cost homeownership schemes, private rented sector options, and social housing pathways.
- Collaborate with social services, housing associations, legal teams, and welfare departments to ensure clients receive comprehensive support.
- Ensure all casework aligns with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, Housing Act 1996 (Parts VI & VII), and Allocation of Housing Regulations.
- Maintain accurate records in Jigsaw, Northgate, Locata, or similar housing management systems.
