Catering Technician

Location: Waltham Forest

Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time - Temporary

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Technician to join our Hospitality and Catering team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of our kitchens, ensuring high standards of hygiene, safety, and efficiency. You will assist with stock control, purchasing, and the preparation of kitchen spaces for classes and events, while also providing technical support to staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain stock levels, ensuring effective ordering and purchasing practices.
• Provide technical support for catering classes, ensuring kitchens are prepared and maintained to high standards.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Support the smooth running of hospitality events and functions.
• Assist with kitchen maintenance, minor repairs, and the safe handling of equipment and materials.
• Accompany students on off-site visits and provide practical assistance in learning environments.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Level 2 in English and Maths or equivalent (e.g. NVQ, GCSE).
• Level 3 Hospitality/Catering qualifications.
• Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
• Level 3 Health and Safety qualification.
• Manual Handling training.
• First Aid qualification.
• Willingness to undertake further training and participate in continuous professional development.
