We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Maths Lecturer to join our academic team in Newham. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator or someone with a passion for teaching mathematics to inspire and support students in achieving their academic goals. As a Maths Lecturer, you will deliver high-quality teaching and support to help students develop a solid understanding of mathematical principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Planning & Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective maths lessons across a range of levels, ensuring students develop a strong grasp of mathematical concepts.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Design and administer assessments to monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students improve and achieve their academic goals.
  • Student Support: Offer additional support to students, providing guidance and encouragement to help them overcome academic challenges.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the maths curriculum to ensure it is relevant, up-to-date, and engaging for all learners.
  • Classroom Management: Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment that promotes student participation and fosters a love for learning.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track student progress and implement strategies to support students who require additional help, ensuring all learners meet their potential.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a closely related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • A relevant teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Proven experience teaching mathematics in an educational setting, ideally at the Further Education level.
  • Strong knowledge of the mathematics curriculum and assessment methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.

Desirable Skills & Attributes:

  • Experience in teaching a wide range of maths topics across different age groups and abilities.
  • Ability to use innovative teaching methods and technology to enhance the learning experience.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • A proactive, student-centred approach to teaching, with a focus on encouraging students' growth and academic success.
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
