Maths Lecturer

Location: Further Education and Training College in Bedford, UK
Position: Maths Lecturer (A Level & GCSE)
Days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Duration: Temporary (until further notice)
Salary: £30-£35 per hour

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths Lecturer to join a leading further education and training college in Bedford. The role will involve teaching A Level and GCSE Maths on a part-time basis, specifically on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The successful Maths Lecturer will also be tasked with running an enhancement club and leading a tutor group.

Key Duties of a Maths Lecturer:

• Deliver high-quality Maths lessons to A Level and GCSE students.
• Run an enhancement club to aid students' additional learning needs and enrichment activities.
• Act as a tutor to a designated group of students, providing guidance and pastoral support.
• Ensure all students are motivated and achieve their academic potential.
• Work in conjunction with other members of the teaching team to support student progress.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and attainment.

Essential Requirements of a Maths Lecturer:

• A degree in Mathematics or a related subject (or equivalent qualification).
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant UK teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching A Level and GCSE Maths.
• Enhanced DBS check on the update service.
• Ability to run an enrichment club and manage a tutor group effectively.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A passion for helping students succeed and reach their full potential.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a similar role within a further education and training setting.
• Experience with a range of teaching and learning resources to enhance student engagement.
