Operations Manager (Scheduling)
Morgan Hunt are working with a Healthcare Regulatory Body in their search for a permanent Operational Manager (Scheduling) to lead, motivate and provide direction to the Scheduling Team of the organisation's Tribunal Service.
Through the effective leadership and management of people, external stakeholders, suppliers and resources - you will develop and sustain a high-performing team that consistently delivers its work in line with quality, timeliness and customer service objectives.
You will be responsible for ensuring successful operational governance structures are in place and that workflow is planned effectively (through changing priorities), while managing a number of team managers (ensuring the team have the skills and capabilities required to deliver high quality service outputs). You will also be responsible for liaising with challenging stakeholders in relation to sensitive issues, including vulnerable case parties and legal defence representatives.
The successful candidate will have experience of managing a complex scheduling process (such as in relation to Court, Tribunals and Hearings) with an appreciation of the complexities of different requirements. You will have experience successfully managing a service designed and delivered within a legislative and regulatory framework, with excellent planning skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and operational pressures (while maintaining a strong focus on delivering desired outcomes and solutions).

Location: Hybrid (1-2 days per week in London Office)
Annual Salary: £55,000 - £69,000

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that the Scheduling teams are sufficiently resilient to adapt effectively to changing priorities and direction and to absorb the introduction of new process and procedures
- Using management information and other data relating to scheduling and hearing activity to accurately forecast the Tribunal Services activities
- Work with the Operational Manager - Hearings to produce accurate and complete performance reports of current position and longer term, identifying emerging trends or themes relating to Tribunal Service activities, ensuring these are prepared for the Head of Adjudication Performance when required
- Work effectively with the Partner Project Lead to identify resource needs and ensure the effective appointment of Partners
- Ensure the Scheduling teams targets are met, driving high performance with quality outputs
- Ensure risk is managed through the undertaking of appropriate controls and checks at all stages of the scheduling process
- Work collaboratively with other Operational Managers and colleagues across the organisation to deliver the department's strategic objectives and priorities
- Work with the Head of Adjudication Performance to forecast team activity and set the FTP budget, managing the budget for your operational area within appropriate parameters
- Use agile ways of working to anticipate and respond to developments in the regulatory landscape, and be proactive in identifying and making a case for appropriate improvements to meet challenges head on
- Ensure the necessary appointment and management of the Tribunal Service's Partners is achieved and that sufficient Partner resource is available to meet hearing demand
- To identify and lead on people, process and systems development to support a culture of continuous improvement and to achieve agreed strategic aims and priorities
Person Specification
- Proven experience of successfully managing a service designed and delivered within a legislative and regulatory framework
- Experience of managing external service providers, including the procurement and management of contracts and services
- Experience of managing a complex scheduling process for a hearing or tribunal service
- A high level of written English and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders from all background
- Ability to present to large audiences and manage and respond to stakeholder feedback.
- Ability to maintain and build positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage competing priorities and operational pressures and maintain a strong focus on delivering desired outcomes and solutions to problems
- Proven ability to produce high quality written and statistical reports.
