
PR Officer

Role Purpose:
The PR officer sits within the Corporate Affairs team, reporting to the PR Manager. The role focused on proactive and reactive media relations across a wide range of media to protect and promote the reputation of the organisation. Working as part of a busy press office team you'll have a strong eye for a good news story, and proactively develop PR stories to support their strategic priorities. You will develop stories that place the organisation at the heart of their neighbourhoods and make their local teams visible.
Key Results:
- Work with the team to build to organisations brand, reputation and influence
- Write and implement structured communications plans for PR projects.
- Be part of a busy press function gathering information to inform responses to media enquiries and contributing to a forward plan of proactive national and local news stories
- Actively contribute to the delivery of the PR strategy resulting in positive media coverage
- Research, write and pitch in press releases, working with colleagues to gather information
- Work with colleagues to generate ideas for comment pieces, promoting the organisation and what they do
- Support the delivery of the organisation's events and roundtables
- Produce information and briefs for speaker opportunities
- Support speaker opportunities at external events, managing a calender of opportunities and developing relationships with conference organisers
- Manage the corporate affairs calendars ensuring they are kept up to date and relevant, talking to colleagues n their regions to ensure they are capturing latest news
- Manage media monitoring; the system, alerts and run regular reports of key team metrics
- Contribute content for the corporate communications social media channels
- Ensure PR activity is evaluated against key message
What You'll need to succeed
- Experience of working in PR, Journalism and communications or a related field
- A creative, proactive approach to your work
- A good team player
- Experience of working on sensitive issues
- Able to work with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels with good relationship building skills
- Strong understanding of the media and what makes a good news story
- Excellent writing and editing skills
What you will get in return
You will be offered a permanent role paying an annual salary of £40k, this role comes with great benefits including generous annual leave entitlement of 30 days plus bank holidays. This role is based in City Centre London with a requirement of being in the office 1-2 days per week
