Key responsibilities



In this Hair Technician role, your responsibilities will include:

• To maintain the hair and beauty salons and the surrounding areas, ensuring the areas are safe and hygienic.
• To maintain the salon tools and equipment in a safe and clean condition.
• To organise a safe and secure storage system for all stock and equipment.
• To record and monitor all breakages of equipment and product wastage.
• To carry out minor maintenance on salon equipment.
• To organise and manage a safe and secure storage system for all chemicals and products in line with COSHH regulations.
• To manage stock control including regular stock takes, stock ordering and reconciliation of deliveries.
• To carry out and up-date risk and COSHH assessments for the hair and beauty salon areas.
• Liaise with suppliers to source the best price on all orders.
• Liaise with teaching staff to ensure that all teaching and learning products, tools and equipment are readily available in line with schemes of work.
• To carry out the laundering of salon towels, couch covers and gowns to ensure a clean supply is readily available.
• Answer the salon telephone and deal with client queries, appointments and answer phone messages.
• Maintain an appointment diary for hair and beauty client bookings.
• Accept and process payments for client services and treatments.
• Reconcile the daily takings in accordance with the college procedure.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations for student kits and uniforms for hair, beauty and media make-up.
