Job Title: Lecturer in Sports Studies
Location: Opportunities across Essex for a college group in Basildon / Southend / Thurrock
Salary: Up to £38 per hour, based on experience
Contract Type: Permanent / Full-Time / Part-Time options available
About the Role:
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Sports Lecturer to join our team. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative lessons in sports science, coaching, and physical education. Your role will involve equipping students with the theoretical and practical skills necessary to succeed in the sports and fitness industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver lessons covering key areas of sports science, fitness, coaching, and physical education.
- Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and practical evaluations.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to help students progress.
- Utilize innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Offer academic and career guidance to students pursuing sports-related careers.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve course content and delivery.
- Ensure adherence to all educational regulations and safeguarding policies.
Requirements:
- A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, Coaching, or a related field.
- A teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to obtain one.
- Previous experience in teaching at the Further Education (FE) or Higher Education (HE) level is preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- A passion for sports education and student development.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles.
