We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable HE Social Care Lecturer to join our thriving team. As a key member of our higher education faculty, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching to students pursuing careers in social care. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional passionate about shaping the future of the social care sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and student-centred lessons across a range of HE Social Care programmes.
  • Support students in their academic journey, fostering critical thinking and professional development.
  • Develop and deliver course content, ensuring it aligns with current sector needs and academic standards.
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students, offering guidance on assignments, research, and career progression.
  • Assess student work, providing detailed feedback to encourage learning and development.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the social care sector to ensure the curriculum reflects best practices and emerging trends.
  • Contribute to the department's continuous improvement and quality assurance processes.

Essential Criteria:

  • A relevant higher education qualification in Social Care or a related discipline.
  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Significant professional experience in the social care sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for teaching and supporting students in achieving their potential.
  • Ability to develop and adapt teaching materials for diverse learning styles.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in delivering HE Social Care modules.
  • Familiarity with higher education teaching practices and assessment methods.
  • A post-graduate qualification in Social Care or a related field.
  • Knowledge of current issues and policy in social care.
