English Lecturer

Job Title: English Lecturer (GCSE & Functional Skills)
Location: South London
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced English Lecturer to join the team at a vibrant Further Education and Training College in South London. This role involves delivering GCSE and Functional Skills English to a diverse cohort of students, working with them in achieving their qualifications and progressing to their next steps.

Key Duties of an English Lecturer:

• Deliver engaging and effective lessons in GCSE and Functional Skills English
• Plan, assess and review learner progress in line with course requirements
• Foster a positive learning environment that encourages students of all abilities
• Provide constructive feedback to students to encourage improvement and progression
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments and student achievements

Essential Requirements of an English Lecturer:

• A full UK recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
• A strong background in teaching GCSE and Functional Skills English
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A passion for working with students to achieving their full potential
• An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service

Desirable:

• Previous experience teaching in a Further Education and Training setting
• Ability to engage and inspire students with varying learning needs
