Pentagon Talent are delighted to be partnering with a vibrant and evolving Top 50 Accountancy Firm in the City of London to recruit for an Audit Senior. You will be joining an expanding Audit team where you be challenged, supported and able to develop your skill set. Our client pride themselves in going above and beyond providing exceptional service to their varied client portfolios.
Duties and responsibilities
As an Audit Senior you will be carrying out a range of duties and responsibilities including but not limited to;
- Managing a varied client portfolio, including large UK groups, privately owned limited companies, LLPs, and listed companies.
- Overseeing the planning, execution (compliance and substantive testing, analytical reviews, etc.), and completion of audit tasks to ensure high standards.
- Supervising and mentoring semi-senior and junior staff, providing training during audits, and delegating, monitoring, and reviewing their work.
- Taking full ownership of each audit assignment, ensuring completion within agreed deadlines, with guidance and support from the manager/partner.
- Developing and executing detailed, high-quality work programmes.
- Actively participating in and contributing to external audit planning and completion meetings.
- Addressing technical issues independently or seeking advice as needed.
- Coordinating with clients to agree on adjustments and collaborating with the accounts team to update disclosure requirements.
- Auditing tax computations to ensure accuracy.
- Preparing management letters and audit reports.
- Keeping senior management updated on the progress of audits.
- Delivering audit results within budget and time constraints.
- Managing general office duties, including mentoring new team members as a buddy.
Qualifications and skills required
In order succeed as an Audit Senior you will:
- Be ACCA or ACA qualified.
- Have experience working in a predominantly audit focused role.
- Have excellent communication and management skills.

Between the months of June and September you are able to finish at 1pm on Friday (Summer Fridays). Career progressions is a vital part of the firm (the CEO started as an Associate!).
