Morgan Hunt is collaborating with a prominent UK Government organisation to recruit a Technology Strategist for a major digital transformation project. The role involves analysing future state operating models and designing process requirements and definitions using recognised methodologies, techniques, and tools. This is a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's future digital capabilities, driving development plans through the design phase, and ensuring alignment across the business.
The successful candidate will rapidly gain an understanding of the organisation's existing processes, data, and systems to support the design of future processes and operating models, enabling a seamless transition to a digital future. You will work closely with stakeholders to capture their requirements and expectations, incorporating these into key digital outputs, such as the digital strategy and operating model. Additionally, you will ensure that future technology and data needs are linked to the overall digital design, where applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the analysis, design, prioritisation, and implementation of future processes and business changes to improve operations and services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to model future processes and gather requirements.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops with key stakeholders.
  • Address project challenges, conflicts, and blockers, driving resolution.
  • Use captured insights to contribute to digital outputs and investment cases.
  • Support technology evaluations by aligning them with future requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience with process improvement methods and their application to operating models.
  • Strong understanding of target operating models, organisational design, and their connection to digital architecture and solution options.
  • Proven ability to run workshops and capture requirements using established techniques.
  • Ability to analyse complex concepts and use data to solve business problems.
  • In-depth understanding of the digital landscape and architectures.
  • Experience processing and refining end-user requirements, consolidating feedback, and translating it into actionable tasks for the project team.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with change and improvement methodologies.
  • Solid experience in project management and business analysis.

Role Overview:

  • The organisation is in the pre-digital transformation phase.
  • The team already includes a Business Analyst; this role focuses on high-level capabilities.
  • The position involves exploring the art of the possible, re-imagining business potential and technology's role, rather than direct delivery.
  • Identifying viable opportunities and unlocking new possibilities are central to the role.
  • Requires facilitation of workshops and strong documentation skills.

Contract Details:

  • Contract until the end of December.
  • £431 per day.
  • Inside IR35.
  • 2-3 days per month on-site in Birmingham
