Morgan Hunt are currently working with a National Heathcare Regulatory Body in their search for a Paralegal to join there regulatory legal team. This role is predominantly to provide legal advice and representation to Regulation members in regulatory law proceedings; as well as working closely with senior legal officers and legal officers.

Job Title: Paralegal

Location: Hybrid (London)

Hourly Rate: £20.17 PAYE (£22.97 PAYE Including London Weighting)

Job Type: Temporary - 12 weeks

Hours: Full-Time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities of the Paralegal:

• Support with the representation and defence of the organisations members in respect of regulatory proceedings in response to charges of alleged professional misconduct

• You should be well versed in taking, drafting and proofreading witness statements, compiling attendance notes, preparing bundles of documents for hearings, managing under supervision case files, undertake legal research

• Assist with the representation of members who are undergoing criminal investigation

• Support the work of the department in administering legal work that is dealt with by agent solicitors, including personal injury and criminal law

• Assist with the representation of the organisations members making employment law claims

• Plan and deliver all work in accordance with the deadlines imposed by the litigation timetables, and the requirements of the supervising lawyer, seeking assistance when needed

Person Specification of the Paralegal:

• Law degree or equivalent legal experience

• Knowledge and or background of a claimant, trade union, Healthcare or regulatory organisation

• Experience of gathering information and presenting it in an understandable format

• Experience of building strong and successful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

• Ability to assist Senior Legal Officers and Legal Officers with advising and representing members on all aspects of regulatory law including public inquiries

• Experience of supporting, developing and implementing systems and new ways of working

• Experience of working within a team, and ensuring that all internal operating protocols and customer service standards are met
